Werewolves are rumored to be of same time as Vampires, but they are relatively new species on the species time line. They were cursed by witches. The originally werewolves were a group of vile men who attacked a group of innocent females. These females turned into banshees, they sought out witches to avenge them. These were corrupt witches with a keen sense of dark humor. They evoked dark magic and cursed the men who did this and all their kin. But all dark magic has a twist. There are two ways of being a werewolf. A lycan, is a born werewolf, and a werewolf is a turned werewolf. To turn, all a werewolf needs to do is bite its victim without killing it, unike vampires where they do need to be killed prior to turning. The turning cycle is also excruciatingly painful, it does happen on full moons, but it can also be learned to control the change. Lycans turn is the most painful, but also is the most controlled. Over the years, all lycans are tought and trained how to control their anger and the change. They are aware of what they are becoming. Werewolves on the other hand is beast like and unhinged. They are more animalistic and brutal. 

 

Vampires especially thought werewolves as the hired help of the species. They belittled them and thought them entertainment when they lost their tempers. They provoked them out of humor. Vampires thought themselves as better in all areas. Werewolves despised the easy life vampires had, they assumed everything about them and with them taunting werewolves all the time the hatred was easy to accept and harvested hundreds of years long feud. Each side states the other one caused it, but it is no secret that they don’t like each other. 

 

This hatred was agreed to be set aside during the species war. Though, like witches, werewolves also divided and supported each side of the species war. Werewolves were treated the same on both sides of the war, as foot soliders. They were a force not to be reckoned with and they knew their strength and power they had within the war. 

 

At the wars end, the leaders of the werewolves and lycans agreed they would set aside their differences and unit as one. They were inducted in the species treaty and were one of the stronger families that would be victors in the monster bowls.
