Zombies were created by humans in the 20th century in attempts to create a bio weapon against vampires. They instead created a disease that mutated humans transmitted via blood to blood contact. This mutation killed most humans and rejuvenated their freshly deceased bodies into shells. These reborn humans, known as Zombies, were kept alive by the cerebral cortex. The cerebral cortex sent pulses through the muscles activating the corpse to move with one primitive goal in mind, feed. First born of carnivores, humans were made to hunt meat. Zombies continued that hunt aggressively and didn’t have a fully functioning brain to decipher which meat to hunt for.

 

Zombies plagued 45% of the living food source, which, even though the Vampires ravaged in the human’s failed attempt, zombies began to put the vampire population at risk since they too needed blood to survive, human blood. Zombies blood was plagued and unable to be ingested by Vampires or any other carnivore.

 

At first the hunt was necessary, then, centuries later, as the zombie threat subsided, the hunt became more of a joke or a sport. Even though Zombies have evolved much like humans did in their beginning of time, Zombies developed a cognitive awareness which allowed them to think and make choices. Though they are far off from humans and other species, Zombies have been able to prove they can abide by standards and now have been identified as their own species.

 

They were recruited in the Species Wars by Humans, but Zombies wanted to stay out of the fight. Their species has been hunted for hundreds of years. They didn’t feel compelled to join any sides and fight along side the species that created then and hunted them. Also, human soldiers did not see eye to eye with fighting besides zombies either, which resulted into mistrust and blind hatred.

 

Through they chose not to be in the war, Zombies were still treated as equals and were able to join in the Monster Bowl.
