There were originally six subspecies of Dragons. They looked over their world and everything in it. Eons passed and the world began to evolve a new species, humans. Humans were curious creatures and dragons looked after them like all creatures of their world. They provided sustainable lands for the humans to build and grow food. They cleansed the waters of the world so that humans could hydrate and expand in. But there was a darkness in humans that dragons saw and kept themselves in secrecy. 

 

Although, they feared these men, Dragons would sometimes disguise themselves as these humans and walked among them. As they did so they became intrigued with how these humans existed. Some dragons even fell in love with humans and would procreate with them. Created offspring. These offsprings would carry on the dragons legacy after they were long gone.

 

A landslide encased them in a cave. This cave was connected to one of the dragons nesting grounds. The young humans found a golden egg and brought it back to them. Other larger humans brought weapons and numbers. They arrived heavily in arms and ready to a massacure. The birthing dragons protected their young, to which the humans, as clever and resourceful as they are collapsed the mountain and killed all those inside including some of their own. 

 

The dragons were furious and fought back tenfold. They torched the nearby city, thus beginning the first species war. This war was dragons against humans. Humans studied and hunted these dragons crafting weapons overnight it seemed to take down these flighted beasts. They learned of wizards and witches and hunted them down and used them as intel against dragons. Dragons fought courageously, but in the end, humans were able to out smart dragons and win the war. After they became endangered, the few dragons left retreated back into the mountains and grew resentment towards the world. They became greedy and cold hearted. They protected their dormant eggs with the agreement to only fertilize them once the world resets itself.

 

As the centuries passed to modern world, dragons became mere rumors and fables. Some true believers and treasure hunters still attempted to hunt down proof of dragons but all ones who came close never returned.
